Over the weekend I read the Teen All Iowa Reads book, 'Rez Ball' by Bryon Graves. With basketball season in full swing, it was the perfect book to read! You will be rooting for Tre Brun (the sophomore all-star) and the Red Lake Warriors the whole way through."These days, Tre Brun is happiest when he is playing basketball on the Red Lake Reservation high school team—even though he can’t help but be constantly gut-punched with memories of his big brother, Jaxon, who died in an accident.

'All Fours' by Miranda July was an odyssey down the turbulent road known as perimenopause but also a quiet nod to Virginia Wolfe's 'A Room of One's Own.' I have never read a book quite like this, in fact. Sometimes, I felt I was reading an autobiography more than a fictional work of literature but that only made the novel more appealing.The main character creates a room of her own in a seedy little motel just 30 minutes from home in order to escape her life (her marriage, her child, the routine of being a wife/mother) that is so safe it's become boring and, in doing so, recreates her life, sexual desires, and her future.
